Tween/Teen Crafternoon - Marble Magnet Fun!

Our first Tween/Teen Crafternoon, on January 26 at Blue Bell, was a success! We had 3 teens all together participating in making lovely magnets. We introduced ourselves and chatted about music, books, and helped each other find various pictures. I basically said, "we'll craft until we run out of supplies." We ran out of magnets first...at about 3:30 PM...

Anyway, check out some of the awesome creations!

Join us in February for Tween/Teen Crafternoon. We have two dates and two locations:
Oh, right. Pics or it didn't happen.

Eyes are really cool for this project.
There's a blue marble in there.
The glue wasn't done drying when the photo was taken, but check out the assortment!

Tween/Teen Crafternoon: Make This on Jan. 26!

Recognize a certain character or certain book cover?

Have you been wondering what a "Marble Magnet" is? Well, look no further! I finally made a few examples to show you exactly what they are. We'll actually have the larger sized "marble" available for the event (that's the rooster). The small ones were some I had laying around. Do you recognize a few of the examples?

These simple to make magnets are addicting. Once you get started you can see all kinds of possibilities for your own magnet art.

Our first Tween/Teen Crafternoon* is meeting this Saturday, January 26 at 2 PM at Blue Bell. Join us! Registration requested.

*Tween/Teen Crafternoon is a new series of events just for the crafty tween and teen! We'll make a different craft each month (as the schedule allows). There will be a meeting at Ambler and a meeting at Blue Bell. Join in to suggest new crafts.

Just One Day by Gayle Forman (Who visits THURSDAY!)

Just One Day by Gayle Forman
Just One Day
by Gayle Forman
Call Number: YA FOR
WVPL - BB (coming soon)

Europe. Traveling. The summer before college. Anything can happen, except Allyson doesn't want to change. She didn't want the bob haircut her best friend talked her into and she doesn't exactly want life to reinvent itself.

Except there's the boy. There's also this thing called "Guerrilla Will" which features the mysterious boy in a Shakespeare play that takes the crowd with them on scene changes. Allyson and her friend follow and the mysterious boy gives her a coin.

Chance, luck, or fate, throws the mysterious boy, Willem, with Allyson and for one day, she agrees to follow him to Paris, the real Paris and enjoy Europe. There are ups and downs, adventures and action, but for Allyson, it is a whirlwind day that is so perfect, that maybe she can extend that day further.

Except Willem disappears without a word.

Can one day really change a person? For Allyson, something about that one day did and she spends one year, with a little help from  Shakespeare and "accidents," facing truths known and unknown, learning about herself, and questioning the limits of her life.

Author Gayle Forman will be visiting Wissahickon Valley Public Library in Blue Bell on Thursday, January 24 at 4:30 PM to talk about her works, including Just One Day. Request it now and stop by to meet this NY Times Best Selling Author of If I Stay and Where She Went.

Do you have off school on Monday, January 21st? Are you looking for something fun to do that's free and interesting? Why not join us for an AWESOME author visit.

On Monday, January 21st at 4:30 PM, Wissahickon Valley Public Library in Blue Bell, will be welcoming acclaimed author Curtis Jobling!

Can I tell you how awesome this is? First, his books are popular, and two, the publisher sent us goodies! I'm not going to tell you one of the goodies because that will be your freebie to take home from this awesome event, but the second one was this (which was waiting for me after vacation. WOO!):

You can see this lovely sign in our lobby by the event board!

Third, Curtis Jobling is actually traveling from "across the pond" to be here! He's from England, which means this might be your only chance for a while to see him speak about the Wereworld series and get a signed book.

If you would like a copy of the book to have signed, contact the Towne Book Center & Cafe in Collegeville to order a copy today!
